A Week at the MAC – Back to School

From 31 August to 11 September 2026, the Archaeological Museum of the City of Vercelli will be welcoming children aged 6 to 11 to help them prepare for the return to school through workshops, games and discovery.

With the start of the new school year approaching, the MAC (City of Vercelli “Luigi Bruzza” Archaeological Museum) is once again organising its now well-established initiative A Week at the MAC – Back to School. This year, the programme has been expanded, offering a full two weeks of summer camp: from 31 August to 4 September e 7–11 September.

A journey through time and a creative revision

The activities will take place every morning, from 9.00 to 12.30, within the museum’s premises. The initiative is aimed at young people aged between aged between 6 and 11 and offers an original approach to the city’s historical heritage: taking a step back in time to rediscover the history of Vercelli and experience the museum galleries from fresh and inspiring perspectives.

Through fun activities, hands-on workshops and guided experiences — not forgetting the shared snack break — participants will also be able to “brush up” on various school subjects in a fun and hands-on way.

A distinguished line-up of experts and guests

The Museum’s Educational Services will be supported by a diverse group of professionals and experts in the field:

• Sara Ghirardi, environmental educator at the CRA (Atlantide Research Centre);
• Brigitta Zunino, an educator at MUSLI in Turin (Museum of Schools and Children’s Books);
• Giulia Zaccardi, who is passionate about Eastern culture;
• Simonetta Viazzi, paper artist and creative;
• Nicolò Avanzato, music teacher;
• Alessandro Bocca, a student of Biological Sciences;
• The Vercelli Scout Group;
• Davide Martuzzi, Judo coach at ASD Marmar Provercelli.
