Tech, we're turning!
Screenings and conversations between cinema and the future
News published on 24 February 2025
STEP offers an innovative film festival, a journey through films that imagined the future of technology and its impact on humanity.
To his second edition, Tech turns starts from the realisation that science fiction has often anticipated themes that later became reality. If in the first edition the focus was on robotics and artificial intelligencethis new review broadens the view by also exploring the relationship between technology and climate change and innovations related to space economy. These fast-growing sectors will have decisive social, technological and economic repercussions. Reflecting on these issues means increasing public awareness and offering tools for understanding the world that awaits us.
Naturally, the review keeps the focus on AI and roboticsengines of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, while also addressing the social risks associated with major cultural changes. More than just a film screening, this is an opportunity to share dreams, fears and expectations about the future.
Each screening will be followed by a debate with Massimo Temporelli, physicist and populariser of science, together with authoritative guests. In addition, as per the film forum tradition, the audience will have space for questions and reflections.
During the interval, a snack will be offered to make the experience even more engaging.
