The Felice Casorati Studio Museum reopens

After the summer break, Sunday 27 September The Felice Casorati Studio Museum in Pavarolo reopens to the public. The event marks the reopening of the exhibition “The Milky Way. 10 years of exhibitions in Pavarolo”, an exhibition programme launched last May to celebrate a decade of contemporary art and local history.

For this autumn reopening, the exhibition is enhanced by a new addition of international significance: the arrival of the artwork “Tied to her Nature”, an important bronze sculpture by the artist Kiki Smith from the Giuseppe Iannaccone Collection. This marks a significant return to Pavarolo (where the artist had previously exhibited in 2022) and offers new perspectives within the rich dialogue between historical masters and contemporary artists.

The exhibition route spread across the site

The exhibition is not confined to the museum’s premises, but extends to various venues within the village:

• Felice Casorati Studio and Museum: It houses the historical and symbolic legacy associated with the Casorati family, alongside contemporary works that focus on the memory of places and the intimate nature of artistic creation.
• The Veranda at Casa Casorati: It features works exploring the subject matter, the object, nature and the transformation of the image.
• Bell Tower and Former General Store: the section “Visionary” It presents art videos inside the Bell Tower, whilst the Ex Emporio — a repurposed temporary space — houses ten years’ worth of exhibition history, including catalogues, posters, documents and archive material.

The artists featured in the exhibition include some of the leading names of the 20th century and the contemporary art scene, ranging from Felice and Francesco Casorati to Daphne Maugham, Gigi Chessa and Carlo Levi, right through to Kiki Smith, Luisa Rabbia and many others.

To accompany the exhibition, a book published by Prinp Editore is also due to be released, “The Milky Way. 10 years of exhibitions in Pavarolo”, which traces and documents the entire decade of activity from 2016 to 2026.
