Playlab
Invent your world
News published on 27 November 2024
Playlab is the new area dedicated to boys and girls aged 3 to 6, designed to experience the Museum in a new way. An invitation to play, invent, imagine, tell.
È a 400 m2 space organised in five rooms. Some art installations, exploration, play and construction activities allow you to immerse yourself in the first four rooms where art and science come together in entertaining activities. Each participant, with the help of the museum's educational staff, can explore the shapes, materials and sounds of nature, use their imagination and storytelling to learn about surprising historical objects from the collections, build a fantasy world with many deconstructed materials, and play with light and shadows between the analogue and digital worlds.
Here, boys and girls, together with those accompanying them, can move freely.
The last room is the Atelier, which is organised for structured and guided tours and follows in the tradition of the Museum's interactive workshops. It invites visitors to delve into specific topics with experimental activities and open enquiry that allow personal exploration paths to bring out their own insights, ideas and theories.
All experiences are designed to foster collaboration and sharing between each participant, including adults.
Playlab offers activities for the public, educational programmes for schools (pre-school to primary school class 1) and professional development courses for teachers. Special events with those working in the world of art, theatre, music, storytelling and creativity are planned throughout the year.
