Great classical music is once again ringing out at high altitude. From 16 to 30 July 2026, Bardonecchia (TO) will host the 31st edition of Musica d’Estate, the International Summer Music Festival organised by the Pinerolo Music Academy Foundation. For fifteen days, the well-known Alpine resort, situated at an altitude of 1,300 metres, will become a meeting place for leading performers on the international stage and award-winning young talents.

The Festival programme and venues
The festival offers a packed daily programme spread across various venues in Bardonecchia:
- The Young Talents’ Afternoon Concerts: Every day at 4.00 pm at the Church of St Hippolytus and the 5.45 pm at the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians The programme will feature a mix of piano recitals, opera recitals and chamber music performances by musicians who have won major national and international competitions.
- Masterclass Afternoons: Also at the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians (5.45 pm on weekdays and 3.30 pm at weekends), the best students – selected from the 127 enrolled in the festival’s advanced masterclasses – will perform.
- The major evening concerts in the “Summer Evenings” series: Three special events at the 9 p.m. at the Palazzo delle Feste (Giolitti Hall), where internationally renowned maestros will perform alongside their pupils. The pianist will take to the stage Gabriele Carcano with the Petra Quartet (19 July) the famous Pietro De Maria with Maria Ponomaryova (22 July) and the violinist Sonig Tchakerian with Nicolas Giacomelli and Emanuele Crucianelli (30 July).
New for 2026: the “MDE OFF” Talks”
The big news this year is the four in-depth talks hosted by Gianmarco Moneti in the foyer of the Sala Viglione at the Palazzo delle Feste (9.00 pm). A unique opportunity for the audience to engage directly with great musicians through a Q&A session at the end. The events will feature:

- Ivan Rabaglia (Thursday 23 July)
- Benedetto Lupo (Tuesday 28 July)
