Culture at the service of health with 'MUSEUMS for UGI

News published on 5 February 2025

Presented the project implemented by UGI and Associazione Abbonamento Musei involving 19 museums in the Turin metropolitan area offering free workshops and visits to children with cancer and their families

Art and culture become valuable allies of health with the project 𝘔𝘜𝘚𝘌𝘐 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘜𝘎𝘐, born from the collaboration between UGI and the Abbonamento Musei Association. The initiative involves 19 museums in the Turin metropolitan area, which will offer free cultural, recreational and entertainment activities to families with a child suffering from cancer assisted by UGI. As highlighted by the World Health Organisation, culture is a tool to improve the quality of life and, with this initiative, the Abbonamento Musei Association intends to promote wellbeing and inclusiveness, opening the doors of museums to the most fragile, organising free admission for them and, in some cases, visits at reserved times to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. In addition to museum visits - subdivided to allow differentiated explanations for parents and children - the Abbonamento Musei Association, in collaboration with UGI, also proposes dedicated workshops. Some of these will take place at Casa UGI, offering an enriching experience for children and adolescents. For children in care at the Regina Margherita children's hospital in Turin or for those out of care but unable to attend in person, the offer is extended with online workshops to encourage active involvement even at a distance.
