Turin celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Liberation with an appeal to collective memory.
La City of Turin, the Metropolitan city and the Museum of the Resistancewith the support of the CRT Foundationinvite those who have experienced the 25 April 1945 and previous years to share their memories.

📢 A PROJECT FOR MEMORY

The initiative aims to create a memory bank for future generations. They are collected written testimonies, videos, audio recordings, letters, diaries and photographs on Resistance and Liberation.

The Mayor Stefano Lo Russo emphasises the importance of the project:

"It is our duty to remember the values for which so many people have chosen to fight: freedom, democracy and union.


📨 AN APPEAL TO WITNESSES

To involve as many citizens as possible, a letter was sent to Districts, civic libraries and local associations, reaching over 38,000 people born before 1939direct witnesses of those events.

The Metropolitan City supports the project with awareness-raising actions in local municipalities. The president of the Museum of the Resistance, Daniel Jallahighlights the educational value of the initiative:

"The accounts of witnesses from that time can offer today's children an immediate confrontation with history".
