Vinadio Fort: baby-friendly

The “A piccoli passi” experience is coming”

News published on 7 September 2026

The Fort Albertin of Vinadio, an imposing fortress nestled in the Cuneo Alps, opens its historic walls to even the youngest visitors. With the new project “One step at a time”, the multimedia exhibition tour “Mountains on the Move” It becomes accessible and engaging for families with children aged 0 to 3.

Born out of a collaboration between Vinadio Town Council, the Artea Foundation and Lilliput ETS, the initiative aims to turn a visit into an inclusive, sensory cultural experience that the whole family can enjoy, right from early childhood.

What does the programme involve? Baby steps?

To help parents and very young children explore the fortress, a range of specially designed tools has been introduced:

  • Exploration kit and Lillicards: cards with suggestions for tactile, playful and sensory activities along the route, designed to stimulate children’s curiosity and allow each child to proceed at their own pace.
  • Ergonomic baby carriers available on free loan: to overcome the difficulties posed by pushchairs on the fortress walkways and ensure a visit in complete comfort.
  • Family-friendly spaces: areas designated for parking pushchairs, areas set aside for breastfeeding and nappy-changing, as well as relaxation areas designed for a quiet break.

With this initiative, the Fort of Vinadio is expanding its programme by welcoming young explorers and reaffirming its role as a cultural heritage site that serves as a meeting place open to all generations.
