Art, inclusion and accessibility at the Brera Art Gallery
Perhaps a dragon will be born is a new inclusion project promoted by the Brera Art Gallery and implemented by The Ability Onlusin collaboration with the Museum Educational Services and with the support of the social enterprise the Fairy Children.
A museum accessible to all
The project was created with the aim of making the museum an open, understandable and welcoming place also for people with intellectual disability and autismthrough an articulated pathway that includes:
- Recreational and creative workshops for children with autism
- Inclusive guided tours for young people and adults
- Training of museum staff on welcoming and accessible communication
The programme will start in October 2025 and continue until June 2026.
Art as a space for freedom
During the activities, participants will be guided in a dialogue with the works in the museum, to explore emotions and develop new forms of personal expression, free from performance logic.
As a symbol of the project, the museum becomes the space where an 'inner dragon' can be born: a powerful metaphor for everything that takes shape when barriers are broken down and creativity is given a voice.
A project to change the face of the museum
Perhaps a dragon will be born is the first project of this scale in Italy and is part of the Pinacoteca's broader commitment to thecultural accessibilityinitiated with the facilitated guide created together with The ability in 2019.
