Exilles Extra Strong 2026

The Fort of Exilles gets its summer season into full swing with the project Exilles Extra Strong 2026, resulting from the new partnership between IGIIC and the Cirko Vertigo Foundation. Following its summer opening, the majestic fortress in the Valsusa valley is offering the following for the months of August and September a packed programme featuring concerts, theatre, contemporary circus, historical re-enactments, food and wine events and art exhibitions.

🕒 Opening Hours and Arrangements

  • In August: The Fort is open every day on an ongoing basis (with Monday as the only day it is closed).
  • In September: The venue is accessible during at weekends and on public holidays (in addition to guided tours for school groups, available on request).
  • Admission fee: 5 € (includes both a tour of the venue and admission to all temporary exhibitions). Entrance free for holders of theMuseum Subscription.

🔹 AUGUST 2026

  • Friday 7 August (9.00 pm):
    • Theatre performance “Court-appointed defence lawyer”organised in cooperation with the Teatro Stabile di Torino.
  • Saturday 8 August:
    • 4.00 pm: Preview “Small Worlds” (theatre/circus for families).
    • 9.00 pm: A dance theatre and contemporary circus performance “Juliet’s Vertigo” with the company blucinQue and directed by Caterina Mochi Sismondi.
  • Sunday 9 August:
    • Today: Exilles Extra Food – The winegrowers (an event dedicated to the wines and producers of the Val di Susa).
    • 9.00 pm: Concert/show “Fred Buscaglione, the man from Turin who dreamt of America” with Tiberio Ferracane and Massimo Peiretti.
  • Wednesday 12 August (9.00 pm):
    • Open-air film screening under the stars, organised by Valsusa Film Fest.
  • Friday 14 August (9.00 pm):
    • The Patagarri in concert – Alta Valle’s Grand Ferragosto Concert.
  • Sunday 16 August:
    • Exilles Extra Food – The Master Brewers (a day dedicated to craft beers from the Valsusa valley).
  • Saturday 22 August (9.00 pm):
    • The second film screening organised by the Valsusa Film Fest.
  • Wednesday 26 August (9.00 pm):
    • A carbon-neutral travelling theatre production “Cycling through stories”, edited by Pedal-powered theatre.
  • During the month of August:
    • Study Day on the subject “From Vauban to the Battle of Assietta”, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Turin.

🔸 SEPTEMBER 2026

  • Wednesday 2 September (9.00 pm):
    • Lella Costa at “The Fairy” – Special closing event for the Forte’s live programme.
  • Sunday 6 September (4.00 pm):
    • Closing event of the festival “Small Worlds” for children and families.
  • Saturday 12 September (9.00 pm):
    • Theatre performance “Odilia and the others”.
  • Sunday 20 September:
    • Historical re-enactment and events at the festival “Exilles City”.

🖼️ The 4 Temporary Exhibitions Currently Open to the Public

Throughout the summer, the ticket includes admission to the following exhibitions:

  1. “Guardians of the Alps. Memoirs of soldiers, men and garrisons of the ancient Fort of Exilles” (Batteria Reale): A history of the garrisons from the 16th to the 18th centuries, illustrated by artefacts, documents and reconstructions.
  2. “FUORICAMPO – Cinema Unveiled”: Photography exhibition on film sets, in collaboration with EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival and the National Cinema Museum, complemented by a screening of 50 stills from the RAI series Fireworks filmed at the Fort.
  3. “Monster Gallery – All the Monsters of Loch Ness”: Exhibition curated by Turin Comics which explores the legend of Nessie through comics, films and literature.
  4. “Messages from the Woods”: A nature trail exploring the fauna, flora and fire prevention in the Susa Valley through photographs, paintings and artefacts.
