Art and naturalia

From 8 March to 26 September 2026, the Castle of Agliè hosts the second edition of Art and naturalia, a cycle of thematic visits proposing an innovative interpretation of the Savoy residence. The initiative interweaves cultural history with naturalistic observation, exploring the traces of flora and fauna in the artwork, decorations and landscape of the park.

Thematic routes

The programme includes twelve appointments divided into four main itineraries, enriched by sensory experiences related to hearing and smell:

• Gardens and naturalia: An immersion in the Italian-style garden and the English-style park to understand the botanical choices that shaped the green spaces.
• Symphonies and naturalia: A walk along park trails linking biodiversity with ancient scores, led by musicologist Alice Fumero.
• Paintings and animalia: A search for animals hidden among the frescoes and stuccoes inside the castle halls.
• Flavours and naturalia: A tour of historic kitchens and pantries to discover the link between gastronomic art, agriculture and hunting.

Collaboration and Purpose

The initiative is promoted by the Royal Savoy Residences in collaboration with Experience the Parks e Morena West. The tours, lasting approximately one hour, are conducted by specialist guides with the support of university lecturers. The aim is to enhance the castle's UNESCO heritage through topical issues such as the environment, climate and biodiversity, promoting slow and sustainable tourism.
