Walter Pfeiffer. In Good Company

La Agnelli Art Gallery presents the first institutional exhibition in Italy dedicated to Walter Pfeiffercurated by Simon Castets e Nicola Trezzi. With more than one hundred colour and black and white works, taken from early 1970s to date, the exhibition interweaves the artist's most iconic series with previously unpublished images, in a path without hierarchy that highlights its unique contribution to the’art, to the photography and alla fashion.

The performance pays tribute to the artist's prolific and pioneering production, which redefined the codes of photography, and traces the polyphonic trajectory of Pfeiffer, spanning all genres of the art history - especially nude, portrait, paesagjo e still life - with an approach that combines formalism, chromatic strength and sensuality. Repeatedly opening up new horizons, the artist's practice has systematically ventured into territories unexplored: from his sincere representations of the queer identity and the sexuality to his unprecedented reinvention of the imagery of the’haute couture through irony, playfulness and imperfection.

The exhibition is also part of the EXPOSED Torino Photo Festival through the project The Divers (6X3), an open-air group exhibition on large billboards along the streets of the city of Turin.
