The exhibition of Arturo Graf Library explores an unprecedented aspect of its heritage: the presence of utopian and speculative works who anticipated the modern science fiction. From Six hundred to theNineteenth century, fantasy fiction developed between Social utopias, imaginary journeys and future worldswith authors such as Giordano Bruno, Cyrano De Bergerac, Swift, Voltaire, Poe, Verne and Wells.
Edited by Paolo Bertetti, the exhibition displays rare and precious volumesincluding The World of the Moon by Bettinelli (1757), L'An 2440 by Mercier (1772) e Voyage de fiançailles au XXe Siècle by Robida (1892). Also present are works by Leopardi, whose cosmic pessimism echoes the visions of apocalyptic science fiction. A journey through time to discover how literature has imagined the future.
