The exhibition Widow Tintoretto. In dialogue proposes a tight and coherent itinerary that juxtaposes works by Jacopo Tintoretto and Emilio Vedovahighlighting a visual, thematic and conceptual comparison between two Venetian artists who were protagonists of very different eras. The guiding idea is to investigate the relationship of aspiration, referencee transformation that Vedova entertained with Tintoretto as his 'master of choice'. The dialogue builds on a central work such as theSelf-portrait of 1588 by Tintoretto (on loan from the Musée du Louvre), considered a milestone in the master's artistic career and a source of poetic identification for generations of artists.

The exhibition, set up in theSenate Chamber of the Palace, develops a selection of around fifty works: the Camerlenghi anchor from the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, works from the cycle of the Metamorphosis of the Estensi Galleries, early drawings by Vedova from 1936 and canvases from the 1940s to the 1980s. The sections are designed to compare "homages" - such as The Crucifixion (by Tintoretto) (1947) or the St Mark's Dream Studio (1956) - and original works by Vedova. The concluding moment is entrusted to the extraordinary installation ...in continuum, interpenetration/translation '87/'88more than one hundred large canvases assembled in a vertical development, in direct dialogue with the great Venetian canvases and bearing witness to the visionary tension and continuity of the confrontation between master and disciple.

The layout aims to bring out the affinity in gesture, in the relationship with spacein the generation of light and the dramatic tension that runs through both languages. Although working in different expressive contexts - the Renaissance for Tintoretto, Informalism and abstraction for Vedova - the exhibition highlights how certain themes, such as the energy of the sign, the interpenetration between figure and space, the path of the ego, are constant in dialogue with the historical memory of art. The visitor is invited to perceive not only a 'historical comparison', but a true spiritual resonance between distant epochs.
