The Gallerie d'Italia - Milan hosts the exhibition All crazy for the Beatles. The 1965 concert in Milan in photographs by Publifoto, with a selection of photographs by the Intesa Sanpaolo Historical Archives.
The exhibition aims to celebrate the The Beatles' first and only Italian tour held between 24 and 28 June 1965. The Fab Four were in Milan on 24 June, where they gave two historic concerts at the Vigorelli, then in Genoa and finally in Rome.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Publifoto Archive contains over 500 photographs of the event, capturing the two concerts, the band's arrival at Central Station and the press conference. Many photographs portray the fans, capturing the essence of the beatlemania also arrived in Italy, albeit more tepidly than in other countries.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of those events, 62 enlargements of negatives from the Publifoto Archive will be exhibited at the Chiostro Ottagono of the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan. On the occasion of the exhibition, all more than 500 photographs relating to the event will be restored, digitised, catalogued and opened online for public use by the Intesa Sanpaolo Historical Archive.
