Temporary exhibition
The Quantum Effect
OGR Turin - Turin (TO)
From Saturday 31.10.2026 to Thursday 25 February 2027
La quantum physics, with its paradoxes and new perspectives on space, time e reality, offers fresh perspectives on the world, creating a space for reflection and dialogue between scientific research e contemporary artistic practices. The major exhibition The Quantum Effect investigates the impact of the quantum theory on visual culture, exploring the way in which concepts such as entanglement, overlap, parallel universes, teleportation e dark matter have permeated the cinema, the pop culture and thecontemporary art.
Following its debut at SMAC Venice, from 31 October 2026 The exhibition opens to the public at OGR Turin with a new production site-specific designed for the spaces of the Track 1. Edited by Daniel Birnbaum e Jacqui Davies, the exhibition showcases works by some of the most significant figures on the international art scene, including Cerith Wyn Evans, Isa Genzken, Tomás Saraceno, Mark Leckey, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Sturtevant e Man Ray. The exhibition invites visitors to explore alternative ways of perceiving and interpreting reality, by drawing connections between installations, video and different disciplinary frameworks in relation to the theories of quantum physics.
The event will be accompanied by a varied programme of side events, including an exhibition of a infinity mirror room by Yayoi Kusama, entitled The Eternally Infinite Light of the Universe: Illuminating the Quest for Truth, which invites us to reflect on the themes of the’infinite and the blurring of boundaries between the individual and the universe. The programme is further enriched by a film festival organised in collaboration with the National Cinema Museum and a reference book published by Walther and Franz Koenig Publishers.
