The exhibition showcases the rich and intense photographic work of the acclaimed American actress and photographer Jessica Lange, bringing to Italy for the first time a wide selection of his works, most of which have never been exhibited before. Curated by Anne Morin, the exhibition comprises over 200 images that offer an intimate, poetic and deeply human perspective. The exhibition unfolds across eight thematic sections focusing on work taken from the late 1990s onwards, highlighting a perfect balance between artistic sensibility e documentary focus.

At the heart of the project lies the narrative cycle devoted to the Highway 61, the famous road that runs along the United States starting from the Minnesota until we reach New Orleans: photos in black and white characterised by strong contrast and a pronounced grain, which depict a’Rural America composed of silences and suspended atmospheres. The journey continues with the images captured in Mexico during the All Souls’ Day a San Miguel de Allende, where the author’s contemplative and unobtrusive gaze favours twilight, night, the folk music and the dance.

The urban series rounds off the exhibition Drift, taken at New York during the pandemic, the circus-like atmosphere of Freak Show, the expressive inventory of Gestures, the photolithographs the desolate landscapes of the South and the visual accounts of Figures from the past. The wide section World Finally, it brings together photographs taken by the Russia at California, from Scandinavia to theItaly, thereby establishing a visual language with a distinctly cinematic.
