Stele. Donato Savin

Fortress of Bard - Bard (AO)

included
From Saturday 28.06.2025 to Wednesday 31.12.2025

The exhibition Stele. Donato Savin transforms the last part of the internal walkway of the Fortress of Bard in an evocative en plein air route, where 30 sculptural works of the artist from Valle d'Aosta Donato Savin integrate harmoniously with the fort's majestic walls. The sculptures, made of natural rocks positioned on essential iron bases, they look like vertical and ancestral presencesevoked by a vision that combines the memory of the mountain with mythical imagination.

Savin, inspired by the Saint Bear Fair of Aosta and deeply attached to the Gran Paradiso Parkcarves stones that preserve the signs of the alpine nature: lichens, marble veining, stone porosity become expressive elements. His Stele are visions, talismans, 'stone gods' that the artist recognises in the primitive forms encountered at the Archaeological Museum in Aosta. Each sculpture is a work open to interpretationsymbol of a existential passage and an ongoing dialogue with nature.

The exhibition, curated by Aldo Audisio in collaboration with theFortress of Bard Associationis an opportunity to discover the sculptural language of one of the masters of contemporary Valdostan craftsmanshipcapable of transforming the mineral matter in silent poetry.
