Stefano Bombardieri. Mail station

In the evocative Art Nouveau setting of Villa Bernasconi, the exhibition Stefano Bombardieri. Mail station takes the form of an authentic symbolic stop in the narrative flow of the larger project 'The Rhinoceros Journey and the Paradox of Time', curated by Anna Lisa Ghirardi. This exhibition becomes an authentic conceptual nodea place of boundary and reflection, suspended between movement e waiting, between immobility e flow.

Welcoming the visitor is the video The journey of the rhinoceros and the paradox of time (2025, duration 3'44"), in which the totemic figure of the rhinoceros remains suspended in time, as accelerated images of faraway places flow by, evoking a mental and symbolic journey that brings into dialogue space and time, vision e conscience. To follow, with Envelopes of nothingness (2020-2025), a Olivetti Lexikon 80 wrapped in a golden shell becomes a sculpture, a silent and empty object, a container of unspoken thoughts and a questioning of theabsence of communication beyond existence.

With Balancing on the Past 1 (2021), a child balancing on a mammoth skull evokes the precious tension between memory e futurea fragile but powerful image that illustrates the need to build tomorrow on the foundations of the past without being overwhelmed by it. The route closes with Project: Armed Monasticism (2020), a graphic study of a monumental work presented at the 54th Venice Biennale: a rhinoceros head supported by a scaffold, with a library illuminated by the horn, symbol of sacred knowledge, refuge of knowledge e silencespiritual and meditative custody.

This exhibition represents an immersive and reflective experience involving the historical space of Villa Bernasconi, offering visitors moments of contemplation and confrontation with universal themes such as communication, memory, time and knowledge.
