Arriving at the 18th edition, the Sony World Photography Awards represent one of the most prestigious awards in the international contemporary photography. The Milanese exhibition at Diocesan Museum brings together a selection of the winning works from the recent ceremony in London, offering Italian audiences a privileged look at the visual and narrative trends that have marked the last year.
Among the 144 photographs on display, signed by 53 international authorsthe project stands out The Anthropocene Illusion of the British Zed Nelsonproclaimed Photographer of the Year. His work investigates the contradictions of the interaction between man and nature, through images of artificial spaces such as zoos, nature reserves and sustainable cities, reflecting the illusion of harmonious coexistence with the environment.
Also on show Chantal Pinzi, winner of the SPORT category with Shred the Patriarchya powerful reportage that combines feminist activism and culture skate. Among the Italian names are John Capriotti, runner-up in the PROSPECTS section, and Alessandro Gandolfithird in the category DEAD NATURE.
The exhibition is an unmissable opportunity to reflect on the communicative power of the image and on the social, cultural and environmental issues that drive contemporary photographic production.
