includedFrom Tuesday, 9 December 2025 to Sunday 29.03.2026
In the picturesque setting of the Masnago Castle, a new temporary exhibition celebrating Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, a key figure in Italian Divisionism. The main work is Autumn Evening (also known as Valpozzo), a masterpiece from the painter's mature period. The painting is on display in the Leisure Hall, a space designed to offer visitors an intimate and meditative experience.
Via free brushstrokes and a palette dominated by brown tones and bright skies, the artist restores the poetic melancholy of an autumn sunset, capturing the essence of nature and time. The exhibition fully showcases the colour schemes and the lighting research typical of the divisionist technique, paying homage to one of the high points of Italian painting in the late nineteenth century.
With this new proposal, the museum renews its commitment to promotion of cultural heritage, offering the public a unique opportunity to experience a rare and intensely evocative work. An invitation to slow down, observe and let yourself be drawn in by the silent beauty of a masterpiece.
