SCARECROW
Artists guarding life
Flashback Habitat - Turin (TO)
ReducedFrom Wednesday 12.11.2025 to Sunday 27.09.2026
The exhibition SCARECROWcurated by Alessandro Bulgini e Christian Caliandro, transforms the Hall B by Flashback Habitat a Turin into a field of symbolic resistance. Through the works of forty-three artists of the Italian scene, the exhibition elevates the figure of the scarecrow a device of political self-defence and civilised. Traditionally intended to protect the harvest, the scarecrow becomes here a mute sentinel against the aggressive leadershipthe predatory power and the irrationality of authoritarian governments.
Art is not understood as mere aesthetic contemplation, but as civil gesture e obstinate presence. The works, which range from painting at photography, from sculpture at site-specific installations, act as guards against the’arbitrariness and the decision-making madness. In an era of real conflicts, occupations e territories reduced to rubble, the scarecrow marks an insurmountable boundary, reminding us that the human dignity and the memory are non-negotiable.
This choral exhibition rejects equidistance and the language that masks extermination, proposing the’artwork and theartist himself as Custodians e Guardians of the existing. The declared aim of the artistic director Alessandro Bulgini is to take art out of aseptic spaces and place it responsibly in the contemporary debate, demonstrating how the creative act can reach and defend the extreme limit of the life.
