The exhibition Bam! represents a cultural event of international significancewhich unites in a single exhibition the cities of Cherasco e Buscain the heart of Piedmont. Through more than 150 worksthe visitor is accompanied in a immersive journey into Pop Artone of the most disruptive and iconic movements of the 20th century.
Edited by Cinzia Tesio under the direction of Riccardo Gattolin, the exhibition takes place in three venues - Salmatoris Palace e Church of St Gregory in Cherasco, Francotto House in Busca - offering a narrative that starts from the Nouveau Réalisme to the most recent Pop trends.
Works of Andy Warholincluding a rare Marella Agnelli (1973), the iconic Marilyn Monroe, Mao, Flowers and the Campbell's Soupalongside works by Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Indiana, Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Dine e Keith Haringdialogue with the greats of Italian Pop Art such as Mario Schifano, Tano Festa, Franco Angeli, Ugo Nespolo e Valerio Adami.
The exhibition is characterised by museum quality of the works, many of which unprecedented and from private collections and international galleries. Also of note is the section ICONSset up in the church of San Gregorio, which houses the installations of the Cracking Art and an overview of the current Italian pop scene.
The route proposes a dialectical confrontation between past and present, stimulating a critical reflection on contemporary society, in line with the ironic and desecrating spirit of Pop Art. The project is completed with educational activitiesdesigned to engage school and family audiences.
