The new photo exhibition hosted at the Palace of Venaria represents a fascinating journey through the evolution of the image over three quarters of a century. The exhibition, curated by Pierangelo Cavanna e Paolo Robino, is dedicated to a unique family genealogy featuring three family members Robino, capable of bearing witness to the gradual transition from amateur to professional practice.
Via 139 photographs, visitors can explore the distinct areas of documentation of the artistic and architectural heritage and fiction, discovering the technological transition from analogue to digital photography, up to the synthetic image and the’artificial intelligence. The exhibition is divided into three chronological sections. It opens with the activity of Stefano Robino, who, with his eighty-five photographic prints (1948-1970) achieved wide international notoriety, publishing in prestigious magazines such as Life e Leica Photografie. His thematic series are dedicated to Places, Factories, Figures and Tales, enriched by the Archives revisited with unpublished shots.
venFollowing the anthological sequence of fifty-four photographs of his son Paolo Robino, a professional engaged in major documentation and restoration campaigns of the Savoy Residences and the mosaics of Ravenna. The journey ends in digital territory with the grandson Filippo Robino, estimated FX Artist and founder of the Alps Studios by Turin, which offers a showreel of its special effects productions for international films and an innovative animation video in AI based on grandfather's photos.
