At Spinning mill of Caraglio the major anthological exhibition dedicated to the French master Robert Doisneauone of the greatest artists in the history of 20th century photography.
The exhibition Robert Doisneau. Life plots traces the work of the man who is considered, together with Cartier-Bresson, the founding father of French humanist photography and street photojournalism: over 100 images from the Atelier Robert Doisneau collection explore half a century of his extremely rich production, in a journey that perfectly combines the vision of an everyday world with the expression of the marvellous.
Rebellious, poetic, non-conformist, Doisneau in his shots recounts the Paris of Liberation and the post-war period, the banlieues, children's games, bistros, but also the harsh and complex reality of work inside factories. In perfect dialogue with the soul and the spaces of the old silk factory that house it, the exhibition presents, for the first time, some shots from the 1945 reportage on the famous Aubusson factory documenting the work of the craftsmen and the various stages of the tapestry production chain.
Among the masterpieces on display are Le baiser de l'Hôtel de Ville from 1950, the iconic portrait of a young couple intent on kissing in front of Paris City Hall, heedless of the people and traffic around them.
