GALLERIES OF ITALY - TURIN - Turin (TO)
includedFrom Wednesday 12.11.2025 to Sunday 1.03.2026
The exhibition Riccardo Ghilardi. The Mole sequence plancurated by Domenico De Gaetano, is a photographic project conceived on the occasion of the 25 years of the National Cinema Museum at the Mole Antonelliana. An immersive and evocative exhibition that pays homage to the indissoluble link between cinema and architecture, telling of the museum and its iconic location, the Mole, as if they were the protagonists of a single, long sequence plan cinema.
Through the objective of Riccardo Ghilardi, famous international actors and directors freely reinterpret the Museum's spaces, often invisible to the public, such as the labyrinthine dungeons or the outside of the monumental dome. Among the names photographed are Martin Scorsese, Sharon Stone, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, Tim Burton, Paul Schrader, and many others, caught in intimate moments or in dreamlike staging inspired by famous films.
Each shot is a frame of an ideal film crossing the places, dreams and the memory of cinema. Some images evoke iconic films such as Mary Poppins, A Clockwork Orange o Rome open city, others seem to come from stories yet to be written.
Thanks to the multimedia content accessible via App, visitors can explore backstage and listen to the voices of the protagonists. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Gallerie d'Italia and the National Cinema Museum, with a system of mutual benefits between the two institutions.
