RE-TRACTED / RE-DISCOVERED

An artistic project that is immersive experience and participatory, RE-TRACTED / RE-DISCOVERED transforms the private memory e collective into a living work of art. The event, curated by Ilaria Pezone and promoted by ArteMETA in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecco and the Lecco Urban Museum Systemcomes to life in the evocative spaces of the Visconti Tower during the Lecco Film Fest 2025.

Through the recovery of amateur films at Super8 and 8mmthe project invites us to reflect on the fragile and precious nature of memory. These materials, from anonymous archives, become visual trail for a live performance in which the artists 'traced' on a shared canvas the fleeting images of the films, as the audience moves through a pathway in semi-darkness, in a space that becomes labyrinth of the mind.

La blend of video, painting and sound - punctuated by the noise of the projector and meditative sound frequencies - creates a context of introspection. Each visitor is invited to participate, leaving pictorial marks on printed frames, thus contributing to a shared narrative of memory. RE-TRACTED / RE-DISCOVERED is much more than an exhibition: it is a collective act of care and a reflection on the transformative power of memory.
