Renato Forti 1923 - 2015

The exhibition Renato Forti 1923 - 2015curated by Marco Fiorentinopays tribute to a shy but central figure of the Italian design of the second half of the 20th century. Through a philological and documentary routethe exhibition brings to light the coherent and refined work of Renato Forti, a designer who has remained on the fringes of the official narrative but whose work reveals an outstanding design quality. The exhibition presents a selection of furnishings, lamps, environmental sketches e design drawingsmany of which are preserved in theRenato Forti Archives (ARF)The result of careful research conducted on period sources, archives and private collections.

Particular attention is paid to the bookcase F54 (1954), already included in the Triennale exhibition 'Italian Design Beyond Crisis', and now presented in an interactive section where the public can experience its construction. The exhibition follows a chronological path which returns the modern and civilised vision of living according to Forti, integrating craftsmanship, industry and design research. Among the pieces on display are original lamps from international private collections, as well as historical photographs e vintage catalogues. The exhibition project, signed by Sara Fontanais characterised by an essential presentation that enhances the uniqueness of each piece through the innovative use of sound-absorbing panels.
