Talking Stones in Prehistory

The exhibition Talking Stones in Prehistory offers a photographic journey through the Italian prehistoric statuary between 3400 and 2200 BC, highlighting the variety and richness of the statue-stelae and the massi-menhir widespread in our country. The exhibition compares evidence from four important geographical areas: thealpine arc, the Lunigiana, the Apulia and the Sardiniaeach with its own characteristics, but all sharing the same cultural and religious matrix.
The project stems from the work of the National Network of Statue Stele Menhir Museumsled by Menhir Museum of Laconiand is supported by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia through theDepartment of Cultural Heritage. The author of the photographs is Nicola Castangiawhile the curatorship is by Giorgio Murru.
After visiting several Italian cities, the exhibition arrives at the MUPRE of Capo di Pontein the Camonica Valleywhich is home to more than fifty prehistoric monuments. The stage is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Massi di Cemmo National Archaeological Parkoffering a unique opportunity to admire, in a national context, one of the most important heritages of the European prehistory.
