Landscapes of Time
ADELAIDE CASTLE | SUSA CITY MUSEUM - Susa (TO)
includedFrom Saturday 20.06.2026 to Sunday 30.08.2026
For the summer season, the Adelaide Castle enriches its historical and archaeological heritage with a contemporary look across the region. The photo exhibition Landscapes of Time, by the photographer Federico Milesi, takes us on a fascinating visual journey through the Susa Valley. The exhibition offers visitors and tourists a unique opportunity to recognise the same complex nature in the villages, monuments and landscapes depicted layers of history and memory which the museum looks after every day.
The exhibition brings together a prestigious selection of photographs documenting the finest aspects of the local heritage: from the famous Sacra di San Michele (the film that came first in Italy at the international competition Wiki Loves Monuments 2025) to the Fort of Exillesthrough the Chaberton Fortthe Lake Moncenisio and theNovalesa Abbey. There is no shortage of medieval castles, the Alpine villages and the picturesque natural landscapes of the upper valley, as well as award-winning images such as the aerial view of the cemetery in Desertes in Cesana Torinese and the photograph of Castel Borello in Bussoleno.
To make the experience even more immersive, the images are accompanied by literary passages e historical accounts. This textual dialogue captures the wealth of meanings that these extraordinary places have accumulated over the centuries, serving as an ideal meeting point between nature, culture e local identity.
