The Diocesan Museum presents DON'T FORGET. The Holy Family experience and Alzheimer's care, an exhibition project realised in collaboration with the Fondazione Sacra Famiglia in Cesano Boscone (MI), a historic social welfare organisation founded in 1896 and one of the most important in Italy in the disability sector. The exhibition brings together 60 photographs signed by Marianna Sambiase, Enrico Zuppi e Gianni Berengo Gardin, It is divided into three sections that interweave memory, history and contemporaneity.

The route opens with images of Marianna Sambiase, educator in the St. Peter's RSA Alzheimer's Unit. His view tackles the complex and delicate subject of the Alzheimer's disease without dwelling on the clinical aspects, but focusing on the people, on faces, on gestures and on the hands. His photographs reveal the fragility and, at the same time, the profound need to recognition that runs through every individual. The image thus becomes an instrument of relationship, an extension of the care and theidentity.

The second section offers a historical insight through shots taken in 1946 by the photojournalist Enrico Zuppi. His images tell the story of the years immediately following the World War II, when people with severe disabilities, victims of the conflict and orphans found shelter in the Holy Family. With direct and participatory language, Zuppi restores private and communal moments of intense humanity.

The core of photographs by Gianni Berengo Gardin, master of black and white, which documented daily life in the Foundation in 2011: the therapies, the school, the reports, the games. Its visual narrative reveals the participation and dedication of those who live and work within the structure.

The entire project invites the visitor to reflect on the value of the memory, on the dignity of the person and on the mystery that inhabits every man, urging an attentive and conscious gaze towards the other, even the most defenceless.
