Through more than 70 original platesfrom the historical sketchbook archive of Editrice La Scuola, we explore boundless worlds, cultural and geographical trips, personal and collective storiesimmersed in a creative tension that looks towards the present. The route is divided into four thematic sectionseach dedicated to an evocative theme: exploration, discovery, memory, contemporaneity.
Among the authors in the exhibition are names such as Benito Jacovitti, Bruno Munari, Gianmaria Ciferri, Gianbattista Bertelli, Ugo Fontana, Piero Cozzaglio, Gianni De Luca and others, in a dialogue between forms, styles and narratives of the Italian visual world. The exhibition aims not only to enhance the illustrative heritage, but to restore the visitor's sense of how images have accompanied the educational process, stimulating imagination, curiosity and cultural awareness. The public is invited to dwell on the evolving patterns of visiontechnical details of the techniques (tempera, ink, drawing), and the relationship between text and image in school communication. The result is a true visual identity card of Italian illustrative talent, which stands in continuity with the great schools of European illustration (Belgium, Argentina) and with the contemporary comics and graphic art scene.
