The centenary celebrations marking the birth of Marisa Merz It takes the form of an extraordinary retrospective, divided into three acts which encompass the entire artistic output of the only female artist of the’Arte Povera. This unprecedented exhibition explores the open-ended and ever-changing nature of his work, bringing together historic installations, previously unseen works and dialogues with his current creative output.
At the Long Sleeve of Rivoli Castle, the exhibition curated by Francesco Manacorda e Marianna Vecellio recreates the monumental installation And to be shipwrecked in this sea is sweet to me, originally premiered in 1980. This section explores the quest to reveal the invisible and metaphysical visions, interweaving the work of the Turin-based artist with an ‘augmented’ retrospective featuring international artists such as Leonor Antunes, Micol Assaël, Beatrice Bonino, Miriam Cahn, Tacita Dean, Thea Djordjadze, Lara Favaretto, Daiga Grantina, Armineh Negahdari e Solange Pessoa.
