The exhibition is characterised by an experiential intensity that invites the visitor to an active and critical involvement. The video work by Elena Bellantoni analyses popular uprisings through the metaphor of the breadlinerestoring a symbolic and social value to 'bread'. Agnes Questionmark uses its body as a vehicle for political reflection, investigating the power relations and identity dynamics. Voluspa Jarpa proposes a multi-sensory experience merging past, present and future through vision and sound. Anna Franceschini combines cinematic and mechanical elements, treating the body as a machine in an aesthetic that evokes the illusion of cinema. Finally, Mohamed Bourouissa addresses topics such as control, domain e dispossession of the bodythrough videos and cast aluminium sculptures.
The exhibition not only represents an important artistic comparisonbut also offers the public the opportunity to express their preference for the winning artist via the award's official website. The winner will have the opportunity to realise a personal project produced by the Fondazione Merz.
