On show at the Reggia di Venaria are the extraordinary art collections of some of the most important families in the Genoese aristocracy (the Pallavicino, the Doria, the Spinola, the Balbi) kept in Palazzo Spinola di Pellicceria, together with more recent acquisitions of the National Museums of Genoa with loans from other museums and private collections.
A unique heritage of art and history which includes famous paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, Antoon Van Dyck, Horace Gentileschi, Guido Kidneys, Carlo Maratta, Luca Giordano, and then again Hyacinthe Rigaud and Angelica Kauffman, as well as the masters of the great Genoese figurative school.
Through a one hundred works among paintings, sculptures, silverware and furniture from the Sixteenth and eighteenth centuriesThe exhibition will not only show the collections of the palace, which later became a museum, but also tell the story of the Golden Age of Genoa the Superbtheatre of the Baroque, ancient republic ruled by doges, with its royalty and pomp.
With this exhibition, the great strand dedicated to the history, art and culture of the courts and the representation of their magnificence.
