Man and the book

The exhibition Man and the bookset up in the spaces of the MAAP Visitors' Centre - Open Air Museum of Art and Poetry Giulia Avetta, presents the prize-winning photographs as part of theEporedia Photo Contest 2022. This photo competition, promoted on the occasion of the recognition of Ivrea as Italian Book Capital 2022invited participants to investigate the relationship between the human being and the booknot only as an object, but as a vehicle for emotions, knowledge and memory.

The works on display - around 20 - were selected from hundreds of applications and received various awards: from official jury prizes, to the popular jury prizeuntil Ivrea Italian Book Capital Special Award. Each photograph is accompanied by a literary extract chosen by the photographer, linked to a book of particular significance to him or her, thus reinforcing the dialogue between written word and image.

The initiative is a collaboration between theIvrea Morainic Amphitheatre Ecomuseum Association and the Municipality of Cossano Canaveseand is part of the activities of the AMI Museum Networkwhich promotes the region through widespread cultural events.
