Luigi Serralunga was born in Turin at 1880in a family connected to the royal administration. He grew up in a cultured and wealthy environment, with ancestors serving the Savoy House. After technical studies, in 1896 subscribes to the Royal Albertine Academy of Fine Artsattending courses in architecture, geometry, figure and ornamentation. Here he distinguished himself for his talent in drawing, winning awards such as the copper medal and the silver medal. Among his masters is Giacomo Grossointernationally renowned painter, who would profoundly influence his style.

In 1902 gets the opportunity to stay at Romestudying classical art. Back in Turin, in 1904 concludes his studies and starts exhibiting successfully at the Society for the Promotion of Fine Artsregularly participating until 1939. Bride Carolina Muziowith which it moved to via Santa Teresa. His style evolves, combining influences Symbolist and Art Nouveauspecialising in portraits, nudes and hunting scenes.

Active in the Turin and Milan art circuit, he participates in the Quadrennials and solo exhibitions. In the 1930s he opened his studio to young artists. Ill, he retired to Castiglione Torinesedying in the 1940. His works are now held in important public and private collections.
