The intruder. Khete fish
GAM - Municipal Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art - Turin (TO)
includedFrom Thursday 21.05.2026 to Sunday 1.11.2026
The exhibition project features Khete fish, invited as Intruder as part of the Fourth Resonance. Edited by Elena Volpato, the exhibition offers a close and unprecedented dialogue between the artist's works and masterpieces from the permanent collection, specifically within the Another 20th Century. Works on paper from the GAM collections. Khete's works are among the absolute masters of the Twentieth century such as Alberto Savinio, Luigi Spazzapan e Lucio Fontana, creating visual and formal short circuits of great intensity.
Khete fish stands out in the Italian contemporary scene for having elected the paper as its medium of choice. His research explores the physicality of the sheet, turning it into a field of experimentation where “tape ”seams and where the white is never empty, but an eloquent silence to be respected or broken. Its painting follows a syncopated rhythm, characterised by sign accelerations and deep compositional reflections. Through a mixture of techniques ranging from the pencil drawing at oil painting, the artist moves on a borderline between the figuration and abstraction, between the narrative flicker and the pure force of colour and brushstroke, rendering a vibrant and complex artistic vision.
