The Luigi Mallé Civic Museum in Dronero dedicates an exhibition to Bruno Rosano (1954-2022), an iconic figure in hiking and mountain photography. The eternal urge to go to the mountains is a tribute to his passion for Maira Valleycelebrated through around 30 large-format photographstaken from its vast archive.
The exhibition route winds its way through lakes, waterfalls, refuges, valleys and snow-covered gorgesoffering a unique perspective on the valley's most striking peaks and paths. Among the images, stand out the spectacular views of Lake Roburent, Lake Nero at dusk, Mount Chambeyron and many other Alpine sceneries, captured with uncommon sensitivity and technique.
Rosano was not only a photographer, but also a cartographer, author of guides and booksand pioneered an innovative way of panoramic shooting. Without the use of a wide-angle lensbut through the patient composition of sequential shots, he was able to render the vastness of the landscape without distortion, creating images of extraordinary depth and realism.
This exhibition is not just a photo exhibition, but a real visual and emotional journey through Alpine naturein which the author has captured the essence of every peak and every glimpse with a unique gaze.
