The Muses of Lake Como

The exhibition The Muses of Lake Comoconceived and curated by journalist and lecturer Viviana Musumeci, takes the form of aimmersive installation and multi-sensory in which thephotographic aesthetics meets the ecological message. Set in the historic Viscontea Tower of Leccothe exhibition tells the double face of Lake Comoon the one hand, its iconic beauty, on the other, the problems related to theenvironmental pollution and the tourist pressure.

At the heart of the exhibition are the plastic waste collected on lake beachessanitised and arranged in the exhibition space as a visual denunciation of the human impact on the landscape. Visitors are invited to take one of these objects with them, leaving the space cleaner: a symbolic gesture of collective responsibility.

Alongside this complaint, the shots by Monica Cordiviola return the enchantment of the Lario, thanks to the contemporary muses - including Justine Mattera e Martina Colombari - that embody an idea of natural beauty and harmony. The path thus becomes reflection, stimulus and invitation to action, for a future in which environment and humanity can co-exist in balance.
