The Luigi Mallé Museum hosts the exhibition Scythes in art, the art of scythes, a profound historical and contemporary exploration of the archetype of the scythe. Edited by Ivana Mulatero, the exhibition will present thirty works of art, including two paintings from 1905 by Matteo Olivero, and a special map on the Iron Dronero. The exhibition, which includes contemporary artists and students from the’Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, will also offer historical materials provided by the Falci S.r.l.
The exhibition offers an immersive experience, with historical documents, photographs and a section dedicated to the culture of the mowing exploring the symbolic and practical meanings of the scythe, with a focus on its role in agriculture and everyday life.
In addition, the exhibition is integrated into the Diffuso Literary Festival in Dronero, offering lectures, workshops, concerts and guided tours to engage the local community and promote dialogue on the history and future of the scythe.
