Temporary exhibition
Dino's war. Letter by letter
Museum Carceri Le Nuove - Turin (TO)
includedFrom Saturday 15.11.2025 to Saturday 31.01.2026
A moving exhibition that spans the collective memory through the personal story of Dino, an Italian soldier interned in German concentration camps during the World War II. Dino's war. Letter by letter, edited by Ico Ferrero, winds its way through original documents, letters, writings and images that restore the voice and humanity of a man who symbolises thousands of Italian Military Internees (IMI) who, after 8 September 1943, refused to join the Nazi-Fascist regime, choosing imprisonment instead.
This process also includes Art in captivity. A new beginning for Europe, a thematic section that explores artistic expression born in concentration camps: graphic works, paintings, poems, writings and visual testimonies which document a silent but powerful resistance, made up of dignity, culture, reflection and inner freedom. Art becomes a means of survival, denunciation and memory, offering visitors a profound insight into man's creative strength even in the most inhumane conditions.
This exhibition, in the heart of the Le Nuove Prison Museum in Turin, is an invitation to reflect on moral choices, cultural identity and the value of freedom, through an exciting and immersive narrative built around written words, visual fragments and living testimonies.
