The exhibition Engraved Beauty: From the Sixteenth Century to the Present Day offers a unique opportunity to explore the extraordinary collection of historical engravings of the Albertina Art Gallery, collected over three centuries and usually kept in the vault of the Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition reveals the masterpieces of masters of art graphics such as Tiepolo e Piranesi, and includes sixteenth-century engravings of the Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and other treasures of the Renaissance e Baroque.
Edited by Antonio Musiari for the historical section and Franco Fanelli For the contemporary section, the exhibition is conceived as a dialogue between past and present: ancient works are accompanied by current works by School of Graphic Arts of the Academy, demonstrating how graphic design continues to be a living and evolving art form. Among the contemporary elements, the artist's books in the series stand out. Hbitat, produced by students of the two-year specialist course, under the guidance of Sonia Gavazza, and works by Cornelia Badelita and his pupil Marco Manzolini. A fascinating interplay of artistic references runs through the exhibition, where tradition and innovation meet and enrich each other.
