includedFrom Wednesday 15.04.2026 to Sunday 11.10.2026
La Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation presents the first solo exhibition in an Italian institution of June Crespo, an exhibition that transforms the space into a system of communicating vessels capable of resonating with the corporeity of the visitor. Le installations, oscillating between delicacy and vigour, come to life from the formal vocabulary of the iris flowers and thebird of paradise, used not as subjects to be reproduced, but as a pretext to explore the materiality and the evocative potential of surfaces.
Crespo acts as an assistant to matter, treating materials as active agents to provide an experience visceral. Through skilful choreography of objects, the artist weaves the architectural space with the body, the meat with the stone, erasing the distinctions between organic and inorganic. The use of techniques high-tech as the 3D scans merges with the creation of casts at plaster, bronze and concrete, in a game of magnification and fragmentation.
The works, which complement fabrics found, industrial elements and personal garments, reflect on the tensions of productions post-industrial, while activating a process of repair and recomposition of fractures. Works such as Molar e The Dancing Column II exemplify this search for balance between monumentality and fragility, where the material vibrates in tune with the breath and movement, inviting the spectator to a free encounter between bodies in transition.
