Temporary exhibition
Jago. Bodies on Display
MAGA Museum - Gallarate (VA)
From Sunday 15 November 2026 to Sunday 4 April 2027
The MA*GA Museum presents the exhibition Jago. Bodies on Display, edited by Tommaso Zijno. The exhibition features the sculptures and works by Jago in a rich dialogue with historical works by some of the most significant masters spanning over a century of Italian artistic research. Although they worked in different historical periods, contexts and languages, the authors have been brought together for this occasion around a common and profound narrative core: the plunder understood as a gesture that reveals the essence of humanity and the war observed as an extreme condition in which the body it becomes a veritable battleground.
Spanning more than a century of art history, the exhibition traces and analyses the ways in which the image of the human figure has been, and continues to be to this day, one of the prime places for exploring key concepts such as power, violence, mysticism e collective responsibility. The exhibition highlights the human frailty and the dramatic confrontation with historical reality, transforming matter and anatomical forms into powerful tools for reflection and social protest.
