From Wednesday 19.02.2025 to Sunday 25.05.2025
The exhibition at the Archaeological Museum in Aosta presents otty previously unpublished works, almost all from private collections, trace the artistic journey of Italo Mus (1892-1967), the Aosta Valley painterfrom its beginnings at the dawn of the 1910s to the mid-1960s.
The exhibition at the Regional Archaeological Museum in Aosta documents the various themes tackled by the Valle d'Aosta artist in over fifty years of tireless activity: from portraiture to views and landscape painting, from interiors - a genre in which Italo Mus reached peaks of extraordinary lyricism - to still lifes. The field of investigation also widened to include social themes and customs and then went beyond the Aosta Valley with some marinas, with the great Bordighera Polyptych, for the first time ever usable in its entirety, and again with a series of 'exotic' works from a cruise made by Italo Mus in the Mediterranean in 1963.
The exhibition, curated by Leonardo Acerbi e Remo BusanaThe exhibition is completed with a series of drawings and monotypes demonstrating the multifaceted nature, including technical skills, of the great master from Valle d'Aosta.
