Bad trips and Broken Promises / Even Flowers Must Die
PAC - Pavilion of Contemporary Art - Milan (MI)
includedFrom Tuesday 25.11.2025 to Sunday 8.02.2026
The Italian-Brazilian duo INSOMNIA, consisting of Thiago Dezan e Infinite, leads to PAC Milan a powerful exhibition entitled Bad Trips and Broken Promises / Even Flowers Must Die. This artistic project, which originated in New York in 2019, merges the documentary photography and videography by Dezan with visual arts and underground sensibility by Infinite, generating a shared language that questions the present through a deeply critical and poetic perspective.
The exhibition is structured as a visually striking journey, where images of brutal crudeness – many of which originated in journalistic contexts – are transformed into works that evoke the unspeakable, the neglected, and what persists even after being endured. Through photographs, paintings e video installations, the exhibition reflects on how culture, understood as institution, can become an instrument of oppression e repression, while presenting itself as a vehicle for knowledge.
The works not only document but visually translate the inner tension of a mind struggling to understand what it sees, revealing the most restless and sleepless side of human experience. The title itself – Even Flowers Must Die – suggests a reflection on the fragility of beauty and the inevitable dissolution of desires and promises.
Within the Project Room, this exhibition offers the public a rare opportunity to engage with an art form that originates from marginality, from conflict and the need to resist. INSOMNIA invites you to don't sleep, a not look the other way, but to watch, to listen, to take a stand.
