The Natural History Museum Kosmos of theUniversity of Pavia presents the exhibition XXL insectsa fascinating journey through more than 30 3D models of insectsenlarged by 20 to 200 timessome as high as 2 metres. Visitors will be able to admire the beautiful shapes and anatomical complexity of these fascinating invertebrates without the aid of lenses or microscopes.

Organised in thematic areas, the exhibition explores the origin, evolution, anatomy and biological cycle of insects, analysing their role in biodiversity and their complex relationship with humans. Works such as the Anopheles mosquito, the ghost mantis and the cherry longhorn combine with representations of ladybirds, palm weevils e prehistoric dragonflies.

Curated by the artist Lorenzo Possentithe exhibition includes a exhibit on insect sounds and an overview of the most spectacular species in the Museum's collection.
