From Friday 27.03.2026 to Sunday 23.08.2026
The Rivoli Castle Museum of Contemporary Art presents the second edition of Advertisements, a six-month programme of commissions that transforms the baroque halls of the Savoy Residence into a dynamic exhibition device. Under the care of Francesco Manacorda, the exhibition invites artists to confront the’unfinished architecture of the Castle, activating a dialogue between the Permanent Collection and the historical stratification of spaces. The protagonists of this edition, Gabriel Chaile, Lonnie Holley e Huda Takriti, explore themes such as the collective memory, the genealogy and the deconstruction of dominant western narratives.
Gabriel Chaile intervenes at the medieval well, creating an environment suspended between historical diorama and post-apocalyptic scenario. His sculptures in clay and earth, inspired by the Indigenous cosmologies of Argentina, dialogue with fragments of frescoes to reflect on the transformation of identity. In the Hall of Continents, Lonnie Holley exhibits assemblies made with recovered materials, extending the tradition of the Black Art of the southern United States. His works create a critical tension with 18th century geopolitical allegories, addressing the historical violence and the spiritual transformation. Finally, Huda Takriti presents a multimedia installation in the Room 29 which analyses the relationship between the’ENIthe cinema and the processes of decolonisation of the 1950s and 1960s, superimposing archival research on the monumentality of historical frescoes.
