Temporary exhibition
Poetic enlargements
Selected works including engravings, paintings and writings
Francotto House - Busca (CN)
From Saturday 7 November 2026 to Sunday 31 January 2027
The exhibition takes the form of a rigorous dialogic architecture centred on the nature of the sign. Trained at the’Academy of Fine Arts of Turin under the guidance of masters such as Mario Calandri e Francesco Franco, Mario Gosso is a leading figure in the’contemporary engraving, capable of combining undeniable technical expertise with profound poetic and conceptual depth.
On display is a rich collection of works – enhanced by two exhibition videos – ranging from engraved prints to canvases, from drawings to watercolours, right through to artists' books: a journey through etching, drypoint e aquatint, the visual reflections linked to the art history, to the literature and the Sacred, and the inner landscapes in which the natural world and everyday objects are transformed into pure metaphysical spatiality. In his works, the dimension of the sign takes on an absolutely central role, transcending its descriptive function to become conceptual metaphor and a filter for an inner geography where aesthetic and moral consciousness resonate in unison.
The event, organised by the’Monviso Arte APS Association, it also offers the public an intimate portrait of a man and a teacher who, in the secluded studio of Caraglio continues to interpret reality through the lens of pure poetry, celebrating a great artist born in Busca.
